Lean Manufacturing
Policy Deployment – A planning and execution system which creates focus, alignment and engagement of team members on the critical few objectives required to achieve the desired organizational goals.
Value Stream Mapping - Value Stream Mapping maps the flow of material and information from the customer back to the supplier. The Value Stream Map becomes the blue print for adding value to the customer and eliminating waste.
Visual Management System – Supports the Lean Production System by providing a structure and routine that shifts focus from “results” to “process and results.” The 4 basic elements include: Leader Standard Work, Visual Controls, Daily Accountability and Leadership Discipline.
5S – Workplace Organization – A 5 step process for organizing and sustaining a workplace. This foundational effort brings stability and cleanliness to the environment, while reducing the time spent looking for things, such as tools and supplies.
Standard Work – An established set of work procedures that identify the best and most reliable methods and sequences for each process and worker.
Cellular Manufacturing - Links manual and machine operations in the most efficient combination to maximize value-added work and minimize waste. Lead times and WIP are significantly reduced and abnormalities are immediately apparent.
Set-up Reduction (SMED) – A set of techniques used to reduce equipment setup and changeover times, supporting smaller batches and lower inventory levels.
Kanban/Pull System – A kanban system determines the production quantities in every process, where the primary benefit is to reduce overproduction. Its aim is to produce only what is needed, when it is needed and in the quantities needed. A pull system creates flexibility in the production processes so that what has been ordered will be produced at the time and in the quantities needed.
