Bar-On EQ-i (Emotional Quotient Inventory)
What is Bar-On?
Bar-On is a tool used to demonstrate different ways of utilizing emotional intelligence skills. The report focuses on 5 composite scales and 15 sub-scales: intrapersonal (self-regard, emotional self-awareness, assertiveness, independence, self-actualization), interpersonal (empathy, social responsibility, interpersonal relationships), stress management (stress tolerance, impulse control), adaptability (reality testing, flexibility, problem solving), general mood (optimism, happiness). The report then describes the meaning behind all of the scales and sub-scales and interprets them using the general population as a means for comparison.
